Klima is probably the most famous and photographed village in Milos. Klima village is located 3 km from Plaka, the capital of Milos island, and 2 km from Trypiti village. This is actually a fishing village, famous for its houses constructed along the port. These houses (called syrmata in Greek) have colorful doors and windowshutters, while on the ground floor they have boat garages. Fishermen store their boats in these garages during the winter time, so that they are protected from strong winds. Such fishing villages with boat garages are very frequent in Milos. Apart from Klima, other fishing villages of the same style are Mytakas, Firopotamos, Mandrakia and Areti.
