Xirokampos is a large beach on the southern side of Leros island, Dodecanese. It is located 3 km from the port village of Lakki and 9 km from the tourist place of Agia Marina. The large bay of Xirokampos has crystal waters and soft pebbles on the shore. Part of the beach of organized with sun beds and umbrellas, while the largest part is non-organized. Few taverns and Leros beach studios line up the beach of Xirokampos and provide a nice tourist atmosphere, especially for families with kids and people who enjoy quiet holiday places.
Close to Xirokampos is one of the most beautiful churches of Leros, the church of Panagia Kavouradena. The name of this church actually means Lady Mary of the Crabs, and tradition says that the icon of Lady Mary in the church was found by fishermen collecting crabs. Another sightseeing close to Xirokampos is the Castle of Paleokastro, the old castle of Leros island, which actually lies in ruins today. This castle is found on top of a hill and was constructed on top of an ancient acropolis.
