Myrtos is the most famous beach in Kefalonia. Located on the northern side of the island, Myrtos is a heaven on Earth! The large bay is surrounded by wild cliffs, while driving the road down to the beach gives fantastic views to the vast Ionian Sea. The water color of Myrtos varies from light blue close to the coast and gradually deepens in the open sea.
Swimming in Myrtos is a delight. The coast has white pebbles and the sea deepens quickly after the first steps. Occasionally Myrtos beach is affected by winds, but generally it is a great, safe place for everyone, even families with kids. Part of the beach is organized with sun beds and umbrellas, but the largest part is not organized. There is a beach bar in Myrtos and a large parking space for cars. On the one side of Myrtos beach Kefalonia is a nice cave to explore.
A big thank you to Antonis Nikolopoulos from Photography Holidays for the fantastic photos
