Nidri (or Nydri) is the most tourist village in Lefkada island. Located on the eastern side of the island, it gets busy due to the many tourist facilities and its port. The port of Nidri serves ferries to the neighboring island of Meganisi all year round. In summer, there are excursion boats departing Nydri and visiting the beaches of Porto Katsiki and Egremni, on the western side of Lefkada island. There are also cruise boats visiting Ithaca and Kefalonia, as well as some secluded islands of the Ionian Sea, like Kastos and Kalamos.
Next to the port, there is a small sandy beach with sun beds and some water sports games. The central street of Nidri is lined up with traditional restaurants, cafeterias, bakeries, mini-markets, tourist shops and car rental agencies. There is also frequent bus connection between Nidri and all major villages and beaches of Lefkada. Accommodation of all kinds is found in the centre of Nidri or in a walking distance away, making it a convenient place to stay during your Lefkada vacations.
