An island with typical Cycladic architecture, Sifnos is located on the western side of the Cyclades. Over the last years, it has grown quickly in tourism but still keeps intact its very distinctive style. Lovely Sifnos villages are spread in the countryside, while the seaside places of the southern side are mostly tourist settlements that come alive only in summer. Villages in Sifnos are purely Cycladic in style and make a great place to stroll around in the evening, just after a relaxing day on the beach.
The most popular beaches in Sifnos are located on the southern side, including Platis Gialos, Faros, Vathy, Apokoftos and Chrissopighi. Many Sifnos hotels are found there. A nice sandy beach is also the large beach of Kamares, that starts from the port and reaches the small village of Agia Marina on the other side of the bay. Smaller Sifnos beaches are found close to Kastro village, such as the nice beach of Seralia. Below are the most famous villages and beaches of Sifnos. Each location is presented with detailed text, map and occasionally photos and close sightseeing.
